Business Development & Marketing Lead — Commercial Construction (Part-time)
Elevation Built | Adelaide SA
2 days a week, flexible across the week
[$40,000 - $45,000] pro rata + bonus on work won
- Build relationships with Adelaide’s leading builders and turn opportunities into secured work
- Help us grow towards $1 million in new work won each month
- Join a family business built on helping people, solving problems and keeping commitments
Can you turn a first conversation into a lasting builder relationship? Do you ask the right questions, find out where you can help and follow through until the job is won? Do you understand why builders keep inviting some subcontractors back?
That is the person we want growing Elevation Built.
The opportunity
Elevation Built is a family business delivering ceilings, partitions, carpentry, cladding and acoustic systems for South Australia’s leading head contractors.
Our mission is simple: We help. We solve problems. We build something that lasts.
For our builders, that means clear answers, practical help, reliable delivery and no surprises. For our team, it means backing each other, taking ownership and creating opportunities for good people.
We started in late 2025 and have grown quickly. Our ambition is to become one of South Australia’s most reliable and professional commercial contractors, then grow nationally with the right people and discipline.
Our next target is $1 million in new work won each month. The delivery team is in place and estimating is pricing. We need someone to own the front end: build relationships, bring in suitable tender opportunities and work with the Director to close them.
You will help build a pipeline of work we can deliver proudly, at the right margin, for builders who want us back.
What this role involves
You build relationships by being useful. You get to know builders’ estimators, contracts administrators and construction managers. You understand their upcoming projects,
ask where they need support and find ways to make their job easier from the pre-tender stage.
You bring in the right tenders. You build and work a target list of builders, get us onto tender lists and identify opportunities early. You work with estimating and delivery to check that the scope, programme and project suit our capabilities and capacity.
You follow through to the decision. Every tender gets a follow-up within two working days. You find out where we stand, clarify what the builder needs and coordinate answers with estimating. You work with the Director on negotiations and closing, keeping momentum while protecting margin and making commitments our team can deliver.
You give people certainty. Builders know when they will hear from us and what happens next. Our team knows what is coming and what needs attention. You confirm important commitments in writing, raise issues early and keep your word.
You own the pipeline. Opportunities, tender values, next steps, award dates and work won are current and visible. You spot gaps early, understand why we win or lose and use that knowledge to improve. You bring a clear view of progress towards our monthly target and the actions needed to get there.
You show what we stand for. Through one or two LinkedIn posts a week and a monthly builder update, you share real examples of quality workmanship, professional sites, practical problem-solving and people following through. Our brand and templates are ready; you bring our story to life and use it to start meaningful conversations.
You work directly with the Director and alongside estimating and delivery. We back each other, challenge respectfully and take responsibility for the result together.
Who you are
You have worked in or around commercial construction, perhaps in business development, supplier sales, estimating or contract administration. You understand how builders select subcontractors and can show how you have developed relationships or helped win work.
You are confident on the phone, comfortable in person and organised enough to keep opportunities moving. You can use LinkedIn to build credibility and stay visible with the people who matter.
Just as importantly, our BUILD values describe how you work:
- Build with pride: You represent the business professionally and care about the work we put our name to.
- United as a team: You back your teammates, share information and work through challenges respectfully.
- Initiative: help first: You understand what is needed, step in early and bring practical solutions.
- Live your commitments: You do what you say, take ownership and fix issues without excuses.
- Direct communication: You are honest, respectful, explicit and on time—even when the conversation is difficult.
An existing Adelaide builder network would be valuable. The ability to earn trust and build lasting relationships matters just as much.
The hours and opportunity
Two days a week to start, with flexibility around how those hours are spread. Two set days or shorter days across the week can work, including school hours, with an agreed approach to keeping builder conversations and tender follow-ups moving.
You will work closely with the Director, have support from estimating and earn a bonus linked to work won. As the secured workload grows, there is room for your role and hours to grow too.
We are building something that lasts—and creating opportunities for the people who help us get there.
To apply
Send your resume and a few lines about a relationship you built in construction: how you helped, how you earned their trust and what work came from it.
