Kaurna Halal Corner in Adelaide is looking for a talented Full-Time Butcher to join our team. This is a hands-on role involving quality preparation and presentation of meat, where you will use your skills and experience in a professional butchery environment focused on providing customers with high-quality halal meat and products.
Key responsibilities
- Break down beef, goat,chicken and lamb
- Prepare smallgoods, including sausage, steak, salami and related products
- Perform quality inspections on meats and other products
- Weigh, package, price and display products
- Ensure quality meat preparation and presentation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food handling
- Provide excellent customer service and communication
About you
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in butchery or a similar role
- Strong skills in breaking down beef, chicken and lamb
- Knowledge and experience with smallgoods, including sausage, steak, salami and related products
- Strong knife-handling skills and knowledge of cut specifications
- Yield awareness and understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Ability to perform quality inspections on meats and other products
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A friendly, professional and approachable manner
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
