B Re & Sons is a family-owned meat and smallgoods manufacturing business located in Malaga, Western Australia. We manufacture a range of quality bacon, ham, sausages and continental smallgoods.

We are seeking an experienced Butcher to join our production team on a full-time basis. We offer a competetive salary, plus superannuation.

About the Role The successful applicant will undertake skilled butchering and meat-preparation duties supporting our meat and smallgoods manufacturing operation.

Key Duties

Duties will include

- boning and breaking down meat;
- cutting, trimming and portioning meat according to production requirements;
- preparing pork and other meats for smallgoods manufacturing;
- removing bones, excess fat and other material from meat;
- identifying meat cuts and assessing meat quality;
- using knives, saws and other butcher/meat-processing equipment safely and efficiently;
- preparing meat in accordance with production specifications;
- maintaining product yield and minimising unnecessary wastage;
- maintaining knives, equipment and work areas;
- complying with food-safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements;
- complying with workplace health and safety requirements; and




- assisting with other skilled butcher and meat-processing duties as required.

Skills and Experience

Applicants should demonstrate

- commercial experience working as a Butcher, Boner or in a comparable skilled meat-processing position;
- strong knife-handling skills;
- demonstrated experience in boning, trimming, cutting and portioning meat;
- knowledge of meat cuts, preparation methods and meat quality;
- ability to safely operate butcher and meat-processing equipment;
- understanding of food-safety and hygiene requirements;
- ability to work accurately and efficiently in a commercial production environment;
- reliability and ability to work as part of a production team; and
- relevant trade qualifications and/or substantial demonstrated industry experience.

Work Conditions The role involves:

- working in a chilled production environment;
- manual handling and some heavy lifting; and
- early morning starts.
