About the role

Baldy's Butchery is a busy, family-owned and operated business committed to quality products and friendly customer service. We are seeking an experienced, fully qualified butcher for a permanent full-time position. You must have sound judgement, strong practical butchering skills and consistently high standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service.

Key responsibilities

- Perform general butchering duties, including boning, trimming, slicing and portioning.

- Prepare value-added products to the shop's recipes and quality standards.

- Plan and complete daily preparation to maintain stock levels and a well-presented counter.

- Serve customers professionally, offering helpful product advice and cooking suggestions.

- Package, label and store products correctly.

- Monitor product quality, rotate stock and minimise avoidable waste.

- Maintain food safety, hygiene and secure equipment practices throughout the day.

- Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties as rostered.

- Work cooperatively with other staff and help keep daily tasks on track.

- Identify and communicate stock shortages, equipment faults and other issues promptly.





About you

- A recognised butcher qualification.

- Demonstrated experience in retail butchery.

- Ability to carry out core butchering tasks confidently without close supervision.

- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe use of butchery equipment.

- Reliable availability for the Sunday-to-Wednesday roster.

- Good communication and customer service skills.

- A responsible attitude, sound judgement and pride in your work.

- Ability to manage the physical demands of the role safely.
