Murarrie

About Us Quarry Hill Group is a privately owned group of global companies with interests across Defence, Infrastructure, Industrial Property Development, and Luxury Accommodation. Our core Defence and Infrastructure brands are long-established global leaders with extensive sales pipelines.

We work closely with our Owner / Managing Director to manage and scale each business. We operate with an agile, high-velocity mindset—acting decisively and leveraging cutting-edge technology and AI to maintain our market-leading position.

The Role Around 95% of your time will be dedicated to our established Defence and industrial product brands, which design precision enclosures and connector accessories. You will also provide CAD and design support across the wider group as needed.

Working directly alongside the Owner out of our Murarrie facility, you will:

- Product Expansion & Research: Identify product additions, category expansions, and gaps in our current global product lines. Benchmark competitor products, analyze features, and help draft design briefs for new product ranges.

- Parametric Modeling & Web Configurators: Develop robust parametric 3D models (Autodesk Inventor) for complete product families, and help support our 3D web-based product configurator for global customer ordering.

- In-House Additive Manufacturing: Lead the design and small-run production of composite enclosures and backshells produced in-house using Carbon-Fiber Nylon 3D printing and secondary finishing processes (including conductive nickel spraying).

- Customer Modification Drawings: Produce clear, accurate client submittal and approval drawings for international customer orders using standard internal templates.

- Outsourced Manufacturing Coordination: Prepare STEP files and standard PDF drawings for machining and fabrication partners (CNC, Mill-Turn, Sheet Metal) and review manufacturability feedback.

- Marketing & Renders:

Create photorealistic product renders and collaborate with our Digital Marketing team to populate datasheets, website pages, and marketing campaigns.

- AI & Standards Maintenance: Maintain our CAD library, parametric models, and drawing standards while actively utilizing AI tools to speed up research and design workflows.

About You Essential:

- Solid 3D Parametric CAD Skills: Deep expertise in Autodesk Inventor is highly regarded. Candidates experienced in SolidWorks or similar platforms who are willing to transition to Inventor will be considered.

- Technical Modeling: Ability to model complex shapes and recreate parts accurately from samples, drawings, or models.

- Submittal Drawings: Experience producing client submittal drawings using standard internal templates.

- Innovation Focus: Genuine interest in 3D printing, AI technology, and continuous product enhancement.

- Mindset: Proactive, curious mindset with strong communication skills and comfort working directly with senior leadership.

Highly Regarded:

- Experience with FDM additive manufacturing, particularly carbon-fiber-reinforced nylon.

- Familiarity with sheet metal, CNC machining, or mill-turn lathe capabilities.

- Rendering skills (KeyShot, Inventor Studio) and Inventor iLogic / parametric automation experience.

Location, Workplace & Flexibility Setup

- Murarrie Facility: Modern office and manufacturing hub with dedicated on-site parking and close access to public transport routes.

- Adaptable WFH Model: Up to 2 days WFH per week based on project workflow. Physical production runs (3D printing, spray finishing, physical sampling) require on-site attendance.

- Project Commitment: Flexibility goes both ways—critical client submittal deadlines or major product releases will occasionally require extra hours and full on-site presence.

How to Apply Please apply with your resume and a short cover letter telling us about a product or design you are proud of. Portfolio examples (models, renders, or drawings) are strongly encouraged.
