About the Role

As a Casual Café Attendant / Barista, you will support the Café Manager at Menora Gardens Retirement Living to deliver exceptional customer service and create a warm, welcoming café environment. This hands-on role involves preparing and serving quality coffee and food, assisting customers, processing transactions, maintaining clean and organised café areas, and supporting catering requirements for functions and special events.

Shifts are typically during peak café hours (approximately 10:00am to 2:00pm); however, days and times may vary based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve quality coffee, beverages and café menu items.
- Deliver friendly, skilled customer service to residents, families and visitors.
- Process customer orders and payments through the point-of-sale system.
- Assist with food preparation, presentation and service.
- Maintain clean and well-presented front and back-of-house areas.
- Support stock management, food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Assist with catering and café functions as required.

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:





- Previous experience as a barista in a busy café or hospitality environment
- Passionate about coffee, food and delivering great customer service
- Confident supporting café service, food preparation and kitchen operations
- Reliable, flexible and a positive team player who works well under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a professional presentation.
- Food handling qualification or demonstrated understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
