About the role

Join the vibrant team at The JCU General Store as a Cafe Manager. This full-time position is located at the front of JCU and offers a rewarding opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while providing exceptional service to students and staff.

What you'll be doing

- Prepare a variety of high-quality menu items and snacks for the store
- Operate the La Marzocco espresso machine to serve specialty coffee and beverages
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students, staff and visitors
- Maintain a clean and organised service area
- Responsible for stock management, administration, rostering and other food service operations
- Supervising a small team of casual staff

What we're looking for

- Demonstrated experience as a cafe manager in a hospitality or food service workplace
- Barista skills and experience in serving high-quality coffee and beverages




- Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Good time management, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations

About us The JCU General Store and Cafe is owned and managed by The John Flynn College, a residential college located at JCU Townsville Campus This is a permanent full time position working day shift Monday through Friday with public holidays off.
