CARPENTER – FULL TIME

Commercial Demolition & Asbestos Removal Perth Metro & Regional Western Australia

Focus Demolition & Asbestos Removal Pty Ltd is an established commercial demolition and asbestos removal company seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Carpenter for a full-time position working across projects in the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia.

This is a permanent, full time position involving carpentry work associated with commercial demolition, asbestos removal, refurbishment and make-good projects.

Main Duties

The successful applicant will undertake a range of carpentry duties, including:

- Constructing and installing timber stud walls
- Constructing temporary timber hoarding for live commercial environments, including shopping centres and hospitals
- Constructing and installing timber framework for friable asbestos removal enclosures
- Measuring, cutting, assembling and installing timber framing
- Removing, repairing and installing timber door and window frames
- Removing and installing doors
- Installing lintels to masonry walls
- Constructing and repairing timber roof framing and roof structures
- Completing timber make-good works following demolition and roof replacement works
- Maintaining and repairing timber windows and doors in our salvage yard
- Maintaining and repairing timber furniture and other salvaged timber items
- Measuring and calculating material requirements
- Selecting and ordering appropriate materials




- Reading plans and specifications and setting out carpentry works
- Carrying out general carpentry repairs and maintenance associated with commercial demolition and refurbishment projects

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:
- Relevant trade qualifications in Carpentry
- A minimum of 2 years' relevant carpentry experience
- Current Construction White Card
- Demonstrated experience undertaking a broad range of carpentry work
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work safely and independently when required
- Ability to work effectively as part of a project team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Willingness and ability to work on projects throughout Perth metropolitan and regional Western Australia
- A reliable, hardworking and professional approach

Employment Conditions

- Permanent full-time position
- 38 hours per week, plus reasonable overtime
- Overtime paid at applicable rates, including time-and-a-half and double-time
- Work across Perth Metro and regional Western Australia
- Salary: $82,000 to $85,000 + superannuation
- Employment conditions in accordance with the applicable industrial instrument
