CASUAL DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER – HIGH INTENSITY SUPPORT

Relief Wakes | Townson QLD 4341, Lockyer Valley

Casual | $45.28–$54.28 per hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

Relief Wakes is seeking experienced disability support workers for potential individual in-home support in Townson. We value calm communication, reliability, respect for choice and privacy, and safe, person-centred practice. Experience supporting children or young people with complex physical support needs is highly relevant.

This is a support-worker vacancy, not an advertised Registered Nurse position. Nursing qualifications, where held, will be considered separately and do not change the agreed role or scope of duties.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL – PLEASE READ The work is in Townson QLD 4341, not Brisbane city or central Ipswich. Please check your own route and realistic travel time before applying. Applicants from Townson, the Lockyer Valley and other areas are welcome if they can reliably attend agreed shifts.

Tell us your current suburb, willingness to travel to Townson, approximate one-way travel time, available days/times and preferred minimum shift length. Distance alone will not determine selection; reliable attendance and relevant skills are important. A private residential address is not required in your application.

Roster, shift duration, start date and applicable travel arrangements will be discussed before shifts are accepted. No guaranteed weekly hours or immediate start are offered. Travel time and vehicle allowances will be paid where required under the applicable award; any additional arrangements must be agreed in advance.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Please describe your recent hands-on experience and training in any of these areas:

- Enteral feeding support.
- Epilepsy and seizure support, following individual response plans.
- Continence care.
- Dysphagia and safe mealtime support.
- Complex respiratory support.
- Safe manual handling, hoists and transfers.
- Complex bowel care.

Clearly distinguish duties you have performed from training only, and identify any areas requiring further training. Do not include participant names or confidential examples.

You are not expected to claim skills you do not hold.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide respectful personal care and daily-living support in accordance with agreed plans.
- Follow individual clinical and emergency plans, recognise changes and escalate concerns promptly.
- Use equipment safely within demonstrated competence and authorised duties.
- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports and handovers.
- Work professionally with the participant, family, supervisors and relevant health professionals.

No high-intensity task may be undertaken independently until the required participant-specific training, competence assessment, plans and authorisation are in place. General experience or a course certificate alone does not establish competence for a particular person or procedure.

REQUIREMENTS

- Legal right to work in Australia.
- Relevant disability-support experience; Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification is desirable. State completed and in-progress qualifications separately.
- Required NDIS Worker Screening and working-with-children clearances verified before relevant participant-facing duties.
- Current First Aid and CPR, subject to verification.
- Reliable transport to Townson; a current licence and appropriately insured vehicle where driving forms part of authorised duties.
- Explicit communication, professional boundaries, reliable attendance and accurate documentation.

PAY AND CONDITIONS Casual employment under the applicable SCHADS Award classification and pay point, based on duties, qualifications and experience. The advertised hourly range is $45.28–$54.28. Applicable casual loading, penalty rates, minimum payments,

allowances and superannuation will be provided. The advertised range does not replace award entitlements.

HOW TO APPLY

Apply through Indeed with your CV and a short response covering relevant experience/training, current suburb and Townson travel arrangements, availability and preferred minimum shift length. State whether required screening checks are Current, In progress or Not yet applied.

Do not upload identity documents, screening-card copies, police checks, medical information or participant records with your application. Required documents will be requested through an approved secure process.

Appointment and any assignment remain subject to the recruitment process, reference checks, work-authorisation and clearance verification, role-specific competence, agreed services and participant choice. Relief Wakes welcomes applicants of all backgrounds. Reasonable recruitment adjustments are available on request.

Pay: $45.28 – $54.28 per hour
