Influence major operational and capital programs through strategic procurement leadershipYour new company An established asset-intensive organisation is seeking an experienced Category Manager to develop category strategies, lead complex sourcing activities and deliver strong commercial outcomes across operational and capital investment programs.

Your new role

Working closely with internal stakeholders, delivery teams and external partners, you will lead strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, contract management and supplier performance activities across assigned spend categories. You will also provide trusted procurement advice while ensuring value for money, supply continuity and strong governance.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and implement category strategies, sourcing roadmaps and procurement plans
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes, including tenders, evaluations and negotiations
- Identify cost optimisation, value creation and supply risk opportunities
- Manage contract governance, supplier performance, KPIs and commercial risk
- Provide strategic procurement and commercial advice to stakeholders
- Support capital programs through compliant and commercially sound procurement





What you'll need to succeed

- At least five years’ relevant experience across procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, commercial management or capital project procurement
- Experience developing category strategies and leading complex sourcing and negotiations
- Strong commercial, analytical and stakeholder management capability
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Sound knowledge of contract management, supplier performance and procurement governance
- Eligibility to obtain the required security identification and police clearance
