About the role

You'll be one of the key faces of Cobbs Hill, welcoming guests and guiding them through our wines and cellar-door experience. This is not simply a wine-pouring role. You will create an exceptional cellar-door experience, engage guests in conversation, share the Cobbs Hill story and confidently turn that experience into wine sales and new wine-club memberships.

Key responsibilities

- Conducting engaging and informative wine tastings

- Creating genuine connections with guests

- Sharing the Cobbs Hill story and helping guests discover wines they'll love

- Recommending wines and confidently closing sales

- Actively introducing and selling our wine-club membership

- Following up on sales opportunities and helping build our customer database

- Providing warm, polished and knowledgeable hospitality

- Supporting the wider cellar-door team during busy periods

- Representing the Cobbs Hill brand and helping encourage repeat visitation

About you

- Previous cellar-door, wine sales, premium hospitality, sommelier or wine-retail experience

- Good wine knowledge and a genuine interest in Australian wine

- Excellent communication and people skills

- Confidence recommending wine and asking for the sale
- A natural ability to build rapport quickly
- An understanding of the importance of wine-club membership and customer retention
- A positive, energetic approach to hospitality

- Strong attention to detail and presentation

- Availability to work weekends

- Wine qualifications such as WSET are highly regarded but personality, sales ability and a genuine passion for connecting with customers are just as important

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is naturally warm, confident and commercially minded.

You will ideally have

- Previous cellar-door, wine sales, premium hospitality, sommelier or wine-retail experience
