Connected Libraries is seeking two highly motivated and fun Children & Youth Customer Experience Library Officers to join our growing team. These fixed term, part-time positions (parental leave October/November 2026 until 15 October 2027*) offer an exciting opportunity to extend your children and youth programming skills while further developing your customer service and community engagement skills in a fast paced and dynamic library service. About us

Connected Libraries are in the City of Casey which is one of Victoria’s largest, fastest growing and most diverse municipalities. We operate five Libraries, a Library Lounge located in Cranbourne West and Clyde Township, plus four sets of 24/7 library lockers. We deliver services for the more than 400,000 residents who call Casey home.

About the Role

As a Children & Youth Customer Experience Library Officer, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, inclusive and high-quality services for children, young people and their families at our libraries and across the City of Casey.

Key responsibilities include

- Delivering innovative, consistent and customer-focused library services
- Providing leadership and overseeing effective branch operations as required
- Planning, organising and presenting a range of children’s and youth programs and activities
- Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with internal teams and external community organisations
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative and adaptable team environment across all sites

Key Selection Criteria

- Knowledge and skills gained through on-the-job training commensurate with the requirements of the role
- Post-trade or other post-secondary education
- Proven experience facilitating children’s programs, either in public libraries or in a teaching capacity




- Ability to effectively and efficiently provide quality customer service
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with all ages across all levels of community
- Sound organisational skills
- Strong information technology and problem-solving skills in a range of information technology and software tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organisational strategic outcomes
- Ability to undertake supervisory responsibilities as required
- Driver’s licence
- Working with Children Check

Hours

- Role 1 - 28 hours per week plus rostered weekends
- Monday 10.00am - 6.00pm - Endeavour Hills Library
- Tuesday 10.00am - 6.00pm - Hampton Park Library
- Thursday 12.00pm - 8.00pm - Endeavour Hills Library
- Friday 10.00am - 6.00pm - Endeavour Hills Library
- Rostered weekends - 1 Saturday in 4 and 1 Sunday in 8.

Role 2 - 28 hours per week plus rostered weekends




- Tuesday 9.00am - 5.00pm - Clyde Library Lounge
- Wednesday 9.00am - 5.00pm - Bunjil Place Library
- Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm - Clyde Library Lounge
- Friday 10.00am - 6.00pm/1.15pm -9.15pm (alternating) - Bunjil Place Library
- Rostered weekends - 1 Saturday in 4 and 1 Sunday in 8.
