We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Technician with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience to join our team. The successful candidate will support civil engineering and construction projects through site inspections, technical drawings, surveying, quality control, construction monitoring, and project documentation.

The ideal candidate will have practical experience in civil construction, a robust understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist civil engineers with the planning, design, and implementation of civil construction projects.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
- Read, interpret, and prepare civil engineering drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
- Assist with surveying, site measurements, levelling, and construction setting-out activities.
- Monitor construction works involving roads, pavements, drainage systems, foundations, and other civil infrastructure.
- Conduct or assist with quality control inspections and testing of construction materials, including concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt.
- Measure completed works and assist with quantity calculations, material estimates, and construction progress reports.
- Prepare and maintain site inspection reports, daily records, test results, and as-built documentation.
- Identify construction defects, technical issues, and non-conformances, and report findings to the project engineer or supervisor.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, surveyors, and other project stakeholders.




- Monitor project progress and assist in ensuring works are completed within the required timeframes and budget.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures, environmental requirements, and applicable engineering standards.
- Assist with infrastructure condition assessments, maintenance inspections, and defect reporting.

Skills and Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma, or degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, civil construction, or a similar technical role.
- Demonstrated experience in site inspections, construction monitoring, surveying, or quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and relevant engineering software.
- Knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, quality assurance, and safety procedures.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.
- A valid driver's licence is desirable.
