I am currently partnering a key state government agency with an exciting contract opportunity for an Claims / Access to Information Officer.

This is a critical role within the Corporate Governance team, delivering thorough statutory information access determinations across claims, workers compensation, and legal frameworks.

About the Opportunity

As the Claims & Access to Information Officer, you will manage end-to-end statutory requests and applications made under Section 180 of the Return to Work Act and the Freedom of Information Act. Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will review complex file contents and apply legislative exemptions and determinations.

Key Responsibilities

Review, analyse, and redact complex statutory file requests.

Assess and determine applications under Section 180 of the RTW Act, FOI legislation, court orders, subpoenas, and warrants within required statutory deadlines.

Evaluate claims records, legal communications, and sensitive documents to identify legal professional privilege and statutory exemptions.

Retrieve and package confidential files from various source systems, archives, investigator portals, and claims agent networks.

Provide consistent,



equitable advice and guidance to internal teams, legal providers, claims agents, and applicants

Ideally you will

Practical experience processing Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, managing statutory information access, or applying administrative law principles.

Strong background in claims management, insurance environments (e.g., EML, Gallagher Bassett), or workers compensation schemes.

Law graduates are welcome to apply (must have completed studies).

Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and robust document comprehension skills.

Ability to work independently, exercise high confidentiality, and maintain zero-tolerance for error in quality work output.
