Summary:

The Clinical Assistant provides patient care in a medical practice or hospital setting, working under the supervision of a physician or nurse. They perform various duties, including preparing patient files, taking vital signs, administering medications, conducting diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct patient interviews to obtain medical history and symptoms
- Record vital sign readings and other measurements accurately
- Assist in maintaining patient files and records
- Set up and assist with medical procedures such as biopsies and surgeries
- Prepare medications and administer according to physician’s instructions
- Assist with diagnostic tests such as EKGs, X-rays, and lab work
- Clean and sterilise medical equipment and exam rooms
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow




- Educate patients on their medical conditions and treatment plans
- Observe and report any changes in patient conditions to the physician or nurse

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or Medical Assistant program
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Physical ability to lift and move patients and medical equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
