Our client is seeking an experienced AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse to lead a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in South Hedland.
This is a highly autonomous and hands on leadership role where you will combine clinical care, staff leadership, compliance oversight and day-to-day operational management. Reporting to the Service Delivery Lead, you will take ownership of one SIL house supporting three participants while providing leadership and guidance to a dedicated team of Support Workers.
This role has arisen due to the return of a participant with complex clinical needs, creating an opportunity for an experienced clinician who enjoys leading from the floor rather than managing from behind a desk.
The Role The Clinical Team Leader will be responsible for the overall clinical and operational performance of the house, ensuring participants receive safe, high quality and person centred care.
A key component of the role involves supporting a participant with a spinal cord injury, quadriplegia and tracheostomy, making experience in these areas highly desirable.
You will be expected to:
- Provide clinical leadership and nursing oversight
- Undertake participant assessments and monitor health outcomes
- Perform and oversee tracheostomy care and other clinical supports
- Lead medication governance and clinical risk management
- Supervise, coach and mentor Support Workers
- Manage rosters, staffing issues and service delivery
- Maintain compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and organisational requirements
- Ensure documentation, care plans and incident reporting are completed to a high standard
- Coordinate communication with families, guardians, GPs, hospitals and allied health providers
- Drive continuous improvement and quality outcomes
About You We are looking for a Registered Nurse who enjoys balancing clinical practice with leadership responsibilities.
Essential Requirements
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Minimum five years post-registration experience
- Previous leadership, team leader or clinical coordination experience
- Experience supervising and supporting disability or healthcare teams
- Strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting participants with complex clinical needs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Current Driver's Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
Highly Desirable
- SIL or disability services experience
- Tracheostomy care experience
- Experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries or quadriplegia
- PEG feeding, epilepsy, catheter care or high-intensity support experience
- Experience using ShiftCare, QUASR, SharePoint or similar systems
- Clinical audit, incident investigation or quality improvement experience
What's on Offer?
- Generous salary package
- Novated car leasing options
- Three months free accommodation provided
- Relocation assistance and flight support available
- Strong support from an experienced Service Delivery Lead
- High level of autonomy and ownership
- Prospect to make a genuine difference in participants' lives
- Leadership role with a growing NDIS provider
Why This Role Stands Out Unlike many Clinical Team Leader positions, this role offers the opportunity to genuinely own and lead a service. You will have the autonomy to manage daily operations, guide your team, oversee participant outcomes and utilise your nursing skills in a practical, meaningful way.
This position would suit an experienced RN from disability, community nursing, aged care or complex care backgrounds who is looking for a rewarding regional opportunity and enjoys being actively involved in participant care.
