About Skills Den
Skills Den is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Coding Instructor to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a university student or recent graduate who has a strong academic background in all forms of coding languages, STEM topics and enjoys helping students build confidence and achieve their learning goals.
About the Role
As a tutor at Skills Den, you will work with students ranging from primary school through to high school, delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to each student's needs.
You'll also play an active role in lesson preparation by utilising a variety of quality learning materials or creating your own resources to support student progress.
Responsibilities
- Tutor students in Coding languages and concepts such as block coding, Javascript, python, CAD and STEM concepts.
- Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons.
- Source, adapt, or create learning resources and practice materials.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies where needed.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate professionally with the Skills Den team regarding student progress and lesson planning.
About You We're looking for someone who:
- Is currently studying at university or has recently graduated.
- Has a strong academic background in coding.
- Is confident explaining concepts to students of different ages and abilities.
- Can independently source or develop high-quality learning materials.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is reliable, organised, and passionate about education.
- Has availability to work 3 hours - 4 hours after school times.
