Details: Libraries ACT is seeking a Collections Officer to play a key role in the collections team, working under the Collections Librarian to provide library collections and services including the library’s Book Club, Bulk-lending, and InterLibrary Loans services.
This role will suit someone who is keen for a challenge, loves problem solving, and wants to do something different every day. You will be adaptable, highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to manage competing priorities, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
As part of the collections team you will undertake tasks including:
- Accession, process, and prepare collections items using the integrated library management system
- Ordering assistance and administration of collection materials
- Amending/maintaining collection records to improve discoverability
- Promotion of library resources (both physical and digital) through displays on the public access catalogue
- Invoice reconciliation and payment administration
The successful applicant will build strong working relationships across the Libraries ACT network and community and will assist the Collections Librarian in curating a well-rounded and diverse collection to suit the Canberra Community.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
- Experience in the Galleries, Libraries and Museum (GLAM) industry will be well regarded.
