Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to support a client with complex care needs. This role is suited to someone with strong clinical support experience and confidence working with high-support clients.

Responsibilities:

- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Support healthcare professionals in delivering medical treatments and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of medications as directed by qualified staff.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.

Essential Experience & Skills

- Experience with Phrenic Nerve Stimulator (PNS) / diaphragm pacing management

- Tracheostomy (Trachy) care experience





- Ventilator management experience

- Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

- Understanding or experience supporting clients with Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS)

- Ability to follow detailed care plans and clinical instructions

- Strong observation and communication skills

Qualifications:

- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or support role is preferred.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
