Unearth Talent is currently seeking experienced APS5 and APS6 Compliance Officers to join a significant Federal Government regulatory program based in Canberra or Melbourne.

This is an excellent opportunity for compliance, audit, assurance and finance professionals looking to apply their expertise within a complex regulatory environment while contributing to nationally significant legislative and financial compliance activities.

Working within an established regulatory team, you will support the assessment of financial disclosures, review compliance with legislative requirements and contribute to the effective administration of financial regulatory obligations.

We are seeking motivated, analytical and detail-oriented professionals who enjoy working with complex information, identifying compliance risks and delivering accurate, defensible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and assess financial disclosure returns to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Undertake financial compliance reviews, assessments and assurance activities.
- Assess financial claims and supporting documentation against relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Identify potential compliance risks, discrepancies and areas of non-compliance.
- Analyse financial information and documentation to support risk-based compliance activities.
- Support the accurate processing and administration of financial funding arrangements.
- Prepare compliance assessments, reports and recommendations to support informed decision-making.

APS6 positions will involve greater autonomy, responsibility for complex compliance assessments,



coordination of financial compliance activities and providing guidance to junior team members. Skills & Experience Required

- Previous experience in compliance, financial auditing, assurance, accounting or regulatory environments.
- Experience reviewing financial records, transactions or disclosure documentation.
- Sound understanding of legislative compliance, governance and risk management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Experience identifying compliance issues and providing practical, evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement.

Highly Desirable:

- Formal qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Experience undertaking financial audits, compliance reviews or assurance assessments.
- Previous experience working within Australian Government or other regulated environments.
- Experience applying legislative frameworks to financial compliance activities.
