Senior Accountant / Finance manager

Our client is an international industrial group with operations across several regions, including Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. As part of the development of its Australian activities, the group is looking to strengthen its local finance function and recruit a Senior Accountant / Finance Manager for its newly established Australian subsidiary.

The successful candidate will report directly to the CFO for the Middle East and Asia Pacific region.

Finance processes, tools and systems

- Develop and implement reporting tools for local and group management
- Improve and formalize finance and business processes
- Optimize financial transactions and ensure data reliability
- Contribute to the improvement of the current accounting system, including Xero
- Set up an analytical structure based on activity-based costing

Budgeting, forecasting and planning

- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Australian subsidiary
- Collect, analyze and consolidate budget data from operational teams
- Prepare the annual budget and periodic budget reviews
- Build medium-term financial plans, including 3-year financial statements
- Integrate budget data into monthly and quarterly performance monitoring

Reporting and performance analysis

- Prepare monthly reports and input financial data into the group reporting system
- Analyze monthly performance and explain variances between actual results and targets
- Prepare monthly comments and management reporting




- Produce ad-hoc financial analyses for general management

Accounting, closing and cash management

- Coordinate monthly, semi-annual and annual closings with the local accountant
- Ensure proper accounting and analytical allocation of transactions
- Provide off-balance sheet items to the group
- Manage banking relationships and cash management matters

Business support and performance improvement

- Identify optimization opportunities and support operational managers in achieving savings
- Anticipate deviations from targets and propose corrective actions
- Monitor the implementation of corrective measures
- Support operational development projects and prepare business plans when required

Profile:

- Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in audit, accounting, financial controlling or a similar
- finance role
- Previous experience in an industrial environment would be a robust advantage
- Experience in an international group or multicultural environment would be appreciated
- Strong accounting, controlling, budgeting and reporting skills
- Advanced Excel skills and good knowledge of accounting software
- Knowledge of Xero would be a plus
- Fluent English is essential; French would be considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills with a hands-on and operational mindset

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with different stakeholders
- Flexible, reliable and comfortable working in a developing structure
