Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction Estimator role based in North Sydney, NSW.

The Construction

Estimator will prepare detailed estimates and tenders for construction, industrial, and civil projects, including quantity take-offs, cost breakdowns, and pricing of materials, labor, and subcontractor services. The role involves reviewing project plans, specifications, and site conditions, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to clarify scope and build accurate cost models.

The Construction

Estimator will track and update project budgets, analyze variances,



and provide cost advice to support bid decisions and project delivery. Daily tasks also include maintaining estimating databases, preparing written summaries and reports, participating in client and stakeholder meetings, and supporting continuous improvement in estimating processes and cost controls.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating skills, including experience preparing tenders and detailed cost proposals for building, industrial, or civil projects.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Quantity Take-offs, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications to measure materials and resources accurately.
- Candidates should possess Cost Management and Budgeting skills to develop, monitor, and report on project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with project teams, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, and present cost information clearly.
- Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in estimating.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Excel, and familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Knowledge of Australian building standards, WHS requirements, and local industry practices; prior experience with government projects is advantageous.
