About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cook for our remote mine site catering company. You will be supporting the kitchen team with food preparation, cleaning, kitchen duties and general camp catering operations. You are expected to work safely, maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, and contribute positively to the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

- Assist chefs with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, portioning and basic food preparation tasks

- Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner and other catering services as required

- Follow recipes, preparation instructions and portion-control requirements as directed by the Chef

- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, food safety and kitchen cleanliness at all times

- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, benches, floors, storage areas and other kitchen facilities

- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other kitchen equipment as required

- Assist with receiving, checking,



storing and rotating food deliveries and supplies

- Assist with maintaining adequate kitchen stock levels and notify the Chef or Camp Manager of low-stock items

- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including secure manual handling and correct use of kitchen equipment

- Work cooperatively with chefs, kitchen hands, catering staff, and camp management

About you

- Ability to work safely and maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety

- Ability to follow recipes, preparation instructions and portion-control requirements

- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and only after receiving appropriate instruction

- Ability to demonstrate a positive, professional, and respectful attitude towards colleagues, clients, and camp residents
