About the role

Malvernvale Hotel is seeking a skilled Cook to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. Based in Malvern, VIC 3144, this role offers flexibility whilst allowing you to contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests and patrons. As a Cook, you will be instrumental in maintaining the quality and consistency of our food offerings, working within our kitchen brigade to prepare and present meals that reflect our commitment to culinary excellence.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, grills and other cooking apparatus
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely meal preparation
- Respond flexibly to kitchen demands and support the team during busy service periods

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Cook in a professional kitchen environment
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and food safety practices




- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency in food presentation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work casual shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Experience in similar hospitality settings such as hotels, pubs or restaurants is desirable
