The location and Lifestyle: Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Great Barrier Reef.

The Mt Carbine

Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy. For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools,



as well as universities and technical education facilities in the region.

About the Role:

Do you have a background in mine operations training, emergency response, contractor management, paramedicine or nursing, and enjoy helping people become and stay safe, competent, confident and capable at work? This is a hands-on role where you will welcome every new starter, train and assess our people, make sure contractors arrive ready, and keep our site prepared to respond when it matters.

What you’ll do:

- Coordinate site onboarding and inductions for employees, contractors and visitors
- Deliver onsite training and verification of competency (VOC) assessments
- Keep training and competency records accurate and audit ready
- Coordinate contractor prequalification, documentation and mobilisation
- Coordinate our Emergency Response Team, drills, equipment and first aid facilities, and respond as a trained first responder
- Assist with governance and compliance of the Safety and Health Management System
- Assist with risk management and change management initiatives across the site

What you’ll bring:

- Essential: Certificate III or higher in an aligned discipline, such as TAE, WHS, Mines Rescue or health care
- Essential: A background in training, paramedicine, nursing, mine rescue, fire and rescue or emergency services
- Essential: Advanced first aid (HLTAID014) or higher
- Essential:



A current Queensland C Class driver's licence
- Essential: Ability to pass the site and industry medical and fitness requirements
- Highly regarded: Mining, resources or heavy industry experience

Additional Requirements for Working at Mt Carbine Mine:

- Must have a legal right to work in Australia.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical

- Required to live within 100kms of Mt Carbine Mine. This position is a DIDO
