ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re on the hunt for a Corporate Sales Specialist to play a key role in driving the commercial success of the Melbourne Football Club. This newly created, hands-on role will see you build strong relationships with businesses, members and partners, identify new commercial opportunities and generate revenue across corporate hospitality, coterie, player sponsorship across both AFL and AFLW, premium membership and the continued development of our AFLW program.

A major focus will be the Club’s player sponsorship portfolio, securing new sponsors, nurturing existing partnerships and creating engaging experiences that strengthen their connection with our players and the Club.

Working closely with the Corporate Sales Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of driving new business, maximising commercial opportunities and delivering against ambitious sales targets. This is a full-time, permanent position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Corporate Sales Manager, the key areas of responsibilities include:

- Lead the acquisition and retention of AFL and AFLW player sponsors, ensuring a high standard of relationship management and benefit delivery.
- Identify current player sponsorship, hospitality and commercial opportunities to generate incremental revenue.
- Drive the delivery of commercial campaigns, events and activations, including travel with the team, suites, President’s Club, match day hospitality and Melbourne Luncheon.
- Drive sales, retention and revenue growth across the Club’s corporate hospitality, coterie and match day offerings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, members, guests and prospective customers.
- Support the growth of AFLW commercial revenue through hospitality, player sponsorship, membership and engagement initiatives.




- Drive Boundary Line membership sales and renewals through targeted sales strategies and initiatives.
- Proactively generate new business through outbound sales, networking, lead generation and relationship development.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve individual sales and revenue targets.
- Lead sales meetings, presentations and proposals, tailoring solutions to meet client and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity and pipeline reporting to support commercial performance.
- Collaborate with the broader Commercial team to maximise cross-selling opportunities across the Club’s products, events and experiences.

Given the nature of the Club's operations, flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including match days, events and other Club-related activities is required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are someone is motivated by building strong relationships and delivering revenue outcomes. You will bring a proven track record across sales, business development, account management or a similar revenue-generating role, with the confidence and capability to identify opportunities, build a strong pipeline and convert prospects into long-term clients.

You are proactive and a self-motivated relationship builder, with excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also demonstrate strong commercial acumen, a genuine customer-first approach and the resilience and persistence required to navigate challenges and consistently achieve results.

You will also be highly organised, accountable and collaborative, able to work autonomously while contributing positively to a high-performing team. Most importantly, they will bring energy, initiative and a genuine passion for achieving sales success.
