Council Members (Voluntary)

Newington College is seeking expressions of interest from individuals to contribute their expertise, judgement and perspective as members of the College Council. As one of Australia's leading independent schools, Newington is entering an important period in its history. Alongside the delivery of its Strategic Plan, the College is progressing towards full co-education by 2033, planning significant investment in its campuses and facilities, and continuing to strengthen its educational offering for future generations.

With strong enrolment demand, sound financial management and a vibrant community, Newington is well positioned for the future.

The College is seeking to strengthen Council capability in areas including:

- strategic change and leadership capabilities for transformation
- technology, digital transformation, AI and cyber
- property development, construction and infrastructure.

Council members play an important role in guiding strategic direction,



overseeing risk and financial stewardship, and helping ensure the College's values, culture and community remain robust as it continues to evolve.

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with board, governance or executive leadership experience who bring sound strategic judgement, a collegial approach to decision-making, and a genuine alignment to Newington’s vision and strategy. A prior connection to Newington is welcomed but not essential. Council membership is voluntary. The Council generally meets five times each year, together with two annual retreats, and members also contribute through Council committees.
