About the Opportunity The Data Science Internship provides students and emerging professionals with the opportunity to gain practical experience applying statistical methods, programming and data science techniques to real-world problems.

You will work with datasets to explore patterns, develop analytical models and investigate ways data can be used to solve complex problems and support data-driven solutions.

For participants travelling from overseas, the internship provides an chance to gain international professional experience, build global connections and experience working within an Australian professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the host organisation and project, you may:

- Collect, clean and prepare datasets for analysis.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis.
- Apply statistical and analytical techniques to datasets.
- Develop and evaluate predictive models.
- Identify patterns, relationships and trends within complex datasets.
- Assist with feature engineering and data preparation.
- Conduct experiments and evaluate model performance.
- Develop data visualisations to communicate findings.
- Document methodologies, analysis and results.
- Research data science techniques and technologies relevant to assigned projects.

Skills & Requirements We welcome applicants who have:

- An academic background in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, IT or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
- Familiarity with Python, R or another programming language.
