About the role

Coolabaroo Neighbourhood Centre is seeking a dedicated Diploma ECEC, OSHC Cert IV and Cert III professional to join our team in Thornlie, WA 6108. This is a full-time or part-time position that plays a crucial role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care, as well as outside school hours care services to the children and families we serve. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Your expertise and passion for childcare will directly impact the wellbeing and developmental outcomes of the children in our care.

Key responsibilities

- Provide direct care and supervision to children in both early childhood education and care (ECEC) and outside school hours care (OSHC) settings
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and programmes that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment that meets all regulatory standards and requirements
- Build positive relationships with children and families, maintaining open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and wellbeing
- Observe and document children's development and learning, using this information to inform future programming and identify any concerns
- Support children's behavioural needs through positive guidance strategies and appropriate discipline techniques
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless transitions between educational and care activities
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures




- Participate in professional development and training to maintain current knowledge of best practices in childcare
- Support the implementation of the National Quality Standard (NQS) and Educational and Care Services National Law and Regulations

What we're looking for

- Current or completed Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC)
- Current or completed Certificate IV in School Based Education Support or equivalent OSHC qualification
- Current or completed Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Working With Children Check (WWC) clearance, or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid certification and CPR certification
- Strong understanding of child development and learning theories
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture
- Demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive and culturally responsive environments
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work across both ECEC and OSHC programmes
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and My Time, Our Place framework
- Experience with relevant childcare documentation and planning systems is advantageous
