Disability Support Workers | Complex Care | Casual | Toowoomba

Pay: $45.28 - $50.00 per hour + applicable penalty rates and allowances under the SCHADS Award

About Us

LOJ Supports is a clinically-led provider of complex care supports. Unlike many generalist providers, everything we do is guided by our in-house clinical team, made up of Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Behaviour Support practitioners, providing clinical oversight so our support workers are never expected to manage complex, high-intensity needs without real backup. Our participants include people living with tracheostomies, PEG feeding requirements, complex behaviours of concern, and epilepsy.

We exist to inspire, empower, and enable children, adults, and families facing additional challenges to live better, fuller lives. Our values, integrity, inclusivity, consistency, involvement, playfulness, and sustainability, aren't just words we display, they shape the way our team shows up, for the people we support and for each other.

The Role:

We're hiring Casual Disability Support Workers to join our complex care team, with the role based in Toowoomba. This is a genuine long-term career opportunity with the ongoing backing of a dedicated clinical team behind every shift, so you're never left to work through complex situations alone.

New to complex care? That's fine. We value work ethic, reliability, and a genuine willingness to learn over years of experience. If you're someone who turns up, pays attention, asks the right questions, and wants to build real, transferable skills in a clinically supported setting, we'd love to hear from you.

Who We're Looking For:

Complex care is about more than clinical tasks, it's built on relationships. Our participants and their families often work with the same support worker for a long time,

so consistency and trust matter enormously. That kind of trust only comes from the right match in personality and approach.

That's why we look beyond a resume when matching staff to participants, we consider temperament, communication style, and how someone naturally shows up for others. We want professionals who are patient, observant, and calm under pressure, who can read a room and adapt, and who understand that the relationship they build with someone is just as key as the clinical task at hand. If you genuinely enjoy connecting with people and take pride in being a steady, trusted presence in someone's life, you'll fit right in.

What the Role Involves:

- Supporting participants with personal care, daily living tasks, and getting out into the community
- Working closely with, and learning from, our clinical team as you build your complex care skills
- Following individual support and clinical care plans accurately and consistently
- Keeping our coordination and clinical staff informed about participant wellbeing
- Building genuine, long-term relationships built on trust and respect with participants and their families

What We're After:

- Reliability and a strong work ethic, someone who shows up and follows through
- A genuine willingness to learn and grow into complex care
- Openness to feedback and clinical guidance, and putting it into practice
- Strong communication and a calm, patient nature

- A natural gift for building rapport and trust, with the emotional steadiness this work requires
- The ability to work independently once trained, while still recognising when to reach out for support
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport (highly valued, as most shifts involve travelling between participants)

Experience in disability, aged care, nursing, or complex care is welcomed but not essential, we're more interested in investing in the right person than ticking a qualifications box. To Apply, You'll Need:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Working with Children Check, where relevant to the role
- Certificate III/IV in Individual Support or Disability (highly regarded, though not essential)
- Full working rights in Australia

Why Join LOJ Supports

- A casual role with consistent hours.
- Paid training and real clinical mentorship, well beyond a standard induction
- Ongoing supervision from our clinical team, so you're supported through complex situations
- A clear path to develop specialised skills and grow within the organisation
- A values-driven team culture grounded in integrity, inclusivity, and genuine care
