We are seeking caring, reliable and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team at our Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Taree.

Applicants must live in Taree or a nearby suburb (such as Cundletown, Wingham, Tinonee, Old Bar, Harrington or elsewhere in the Manning Valley). Living locally lets you respond to rostered and short-notice SIL shifts and supports consistent, familiar care for participants.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide individualised support to NDIS participants based on their support plans, goals, preferences and level of independence. Your duties may include:

- Providing assistance with daily living activities and personal care
- Supporting participants with household tasks, meal preparation and daily routines
- Assisting participants to access the community and attend appointments and activities
- Providing transport and assistance with shopping and errands
- Supporting participants to develop independence and daily living skills
- Providing support within participants' homes and Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments
- Following individual support plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies where applicable
- Completing accurate progress notes and other required documentation
- Reporting incidents, hazards, changes in participant needs and concerns promptly




- Maintaining participant dignity, privacy, choice and confidentiality
- Following NDIS Practice Standards, organisational policies and relevant workplace health and safety requirements
- Working collaboratively with participants, families, carers and other members of the support team.

About You

- You live in Taree or a nearby suburb within the Manning Valley
- You are patient, respectful and genuinely committed to person-centred support
- You are reliable, punctual and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- You communicate clearly and can write accurate progress notes
- You are available for casual shifts, which may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and sleepovers
- Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencing)
- Working With Children Check (NSW)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – "Quality, Safety and You"
- Current NSW driver's licence and a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Full working rights in Australia

Desirable

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Disability, or a related field
- Previous experience in disability support, SIL or community care
- Experience supporting participants with complex needs or behaviour support plans
