About the role

Whilst the Star Drilling is based in Thomastown, this role will work in Orange NSW with a very small amount of time working across a diverse range of geotechnical and environmental drilling projects throughout Victoria and interstate.

Star Drilling operates a fleet of 18 drilling rigs, ranging from large sonic rigs through to smaller Geoprobes.





Our work gives experienced drillers the opportunity to use and develop their skills across a range of drilling methods, including:

- Sonic drilling

- Auger drilling

- Rotary air

- Rotary Mud

This is not a full-time FIFO position.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced driller who takes pride in doing the job properly, works well with their crew and wants to be part of a professional drilling business.

Ideally, you will have:

- 3+ years' above-ground geotechnical and/or environmental drilling experience
- A minimum MR licence, with an HR manual licence strongly preferred

- Construction Industry Induction Card

- Driller's or Water Well Licence preferred, or willingness to obtain one

- Rail Industry Worker Card preferred

- Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to undertake basic preventative maintenance and servicing
- A robust commitment to safety and safe drilling practices
- The physical fitness required for drilling operations
- A positive, practical and proactive approach

- Flexibility to undertake regular overtime and some weekend work

- Flexibility to work interstate approximately 50% of the time

- Australian working rights
