About the role

We are seeking an experienced Drive Through Chef to join Centra Hotel in Geelong, VIC. This is a full-time position offering a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality workplace. As a Drive Through Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every customer receives high-quality, freshly prepared food served efficiently at our drive-through service.

This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellent food preparation and customer satisfaction in the quick-service dining sector.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking food items to consistent quality standards within strict time frames to meet drive-through service demands
- Operating and maintaining drive-through kitchen equipment, ensuring all machinery is kept clean and in optimal working condition
- Managing food stock levels, conducting inventory checks, and ensuring food storage meets health and safety regulations
- Following all recipes and food preparation guidelines to maintain consistency across all meals prepared
- Maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards at all times, adhering to local health regulations and company protocols
- Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak service hours
- Plating and packaging food items according to company standards for drive-through service
- Responding promptly to customer orders and ensuring accurate food preparation and delivery
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as required
- Contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment that prioritises both quality and speed

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a chef or cook in a fast-paced hospitality environment, preferably with drive-through or quick-service restaurant experience
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu items
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prepare multiple orders simultaneously without compromising quality
- A thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and health regulations




- Physical fitness and ability to work in a warm kitchen environment for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues during busy service periods
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent food quality
- Flexibility with working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and weekend shifts as required
- Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain it
- Experience with kitchen point-of-sale systems is desirable
