The Chance:

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Duty Managers to oversee the day-to-day operations of the newly renovated Katherine Aquatic Centre. As the Duty Manager, you will ensure safety, cleanliness, and excellent service for all pool users, while also leading a local team. You’ll be responsible for facilitating the continued success of these essential community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the daily operations of pool in collaboration with local teams.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, including pool maintenance and water quality.
- Provide leadership and training to local staff, helping them develop skills in customer service and pool management.
- Engage with the community to promote water safety education and health programs.
- Handle customer service inquiries and resolve any issues that arise.
- Monitor pool facilities and equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance as necessary.
- Be the point of contact for emergency situations and escalated concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

- Experience in pool management, hospitality, or a related field.
- Knowledge of pool maintenance, water quality standards, and health and safety protocols.




- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willing to obtain)

YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

- Valid Working with Children Clearance.
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
