Your new role

You will lead a high-performing team of developers, testers and integration specialists responsible for delivering and improving the organisation's core technology platforms.This is not a traditional management role. You'll remain close to the technology, providing technical leadership while helping the team successfully deliver a broad range of projects, enhancements and integrations.Working alongside senior technology leaders, you will be responsible for driving delivery, improving engineering practices and ensuring business-critical systems continue to evolve in line with organisational priorities.

Key responsibilities include

- Leading and mentoring a team of software engineers, testers and integration specialists
- Driving agile delivery, sprint planning and roadmap execution
- Remaining hands-on with architecture reviews, technical problem solving and code quality
- Owning delivery across web, backend and integration platforms




- Partnering with business stakeholders to translate requirements into deliverable outcomes
- Supporting operational stability while continuing to progress strategic initiatives
- Building a high-performance engineering culture focused on accountability, quality and continuous improvement

What you'll need to succeed
- 10+ years' experience in software engineering and technology delivery
- Recent experience leading engineering teams in a hands-on capacity
- Strong software development background across web, backend, APIs and integrations
- Experience leading agile delivery teams of approximately 5-10 people
- Proven ability to balance BAU support, technical debt reduction and project delivery
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience in retail, ecommerce, supply chain, logistics or other high-volume operational environments would be highly regarded
- Exposure to AI tools, automation technologies and modern software engineering practices
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with a passion for building and improving technology
