What role will you play?
You will work closely with engineering and product leaders to lead and coach one or more engineering teams to ensure overall team health and successful project delivery.
Your responsibilities will encompass providing strategic direction, fostering professional growth, and owning your team's engineering processes, including system design, development, CI/CD, and production support.
You will be responsible for the overall health of your team's services, driving proactive platform health maintenance, and ensuring the team consistently delivers on security, compliance, and operational initiatives. You will cultivate an innovative and inclusive culture that promotes collaboration, fosters a strong sense of belonging, and empowers your team to deliver high-quality, robust, and secure systems.
What You Offer
- People Leadership: Relevant experience managing and coaching software engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment, with a focus on career growth, well-being, and skill development.
- Project Delivery: Demonstrated ability to ensure consistent project delivery,
manage team capacity, identify and remove blockers, and communicate project status and risks to all stakeholders.
- Technical Background: A robust technical background in software development (preferably Java-based), with experience in software design and operating mission-critical services and platforms.
- Cloud & Modern Practices: Experience with cloud-based technologies (such as AWS or Google Cloud) and modern engineering practices, including containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Operational Excellence: Experience owning a team's incident management process, balancing feature development with operational tasks, and cultivating robust operational practices for system reliability.
- Stakeholder Management: A collaborative approach with the ability to build strong relationships with product, design, and other cross-functional partners.
