Laser Landscapes & Excavation is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team on a part-time basis.

We are a Blue Mountains-based landscape and civil construction company delivering high-quality commercial, civil and residential projects across NSW.

The role will primarily involve estimating small to medium commercial construction projects, along with selected larger residential projects, generally with project values of up to $1 million.

This is a 4-day-per-week, work-from-home position, suited to an experienced estimator who can independently review tender documentation, complete detailed take-offs, obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing, and prepare accurate and competitive estimates.

Key Responsibilities

- Review architectural, landscape, civil and structural drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs for labour, materials, plant and subcontractor requirements.
- Prepare estimates for projects generally valued up to $1 million.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Build detailed project costings and identify potential risks, exclusions and opportunities.
- Prepare scopes of works and assist with tender submissions.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information and potential variations within tender documentation.
- Work closely with the Director and project team to ensure estimates reflect realistic construction methodologies and site conditions.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing information.
- Assist with estimating across landscaping, excavation, concrete, drainage, retaining walls, paving, civil works and associated construction packages.





About You We are looking for someone with strong construction estimating experience who understands how projects are actually delivered on site.

Ideally, you will have:

- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience estimating commercial construction, civil, landscaping or external works packages.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent quantity take-off skills.
- A practical understanding of labour, plant, material and subcontractor costs.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify scope gaps before tender submission.
- Valuable communication skills when dealing with suppliers, subcontractors and our internal team.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Strong computer and estimating software skills.

Experience in landscape construction, civil works, excavation, concrete, retaining walls, drainage and external works would be highly regarded.
