An exciting prospect has arisen for an Events Lead to permanently join our Ekka team here at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

This role is perfect for an experienced professional who is comfortable leading a diverse portfolio of events, has strong stakeholder management, and enjoys turning ideas into exceptional event experiences. Someone who is equally as comfortable developing strategy and plans as they are rolling up their sleeves and helping make event days a success.

The Ekka is one of Queensland's most iconic events, bringing city and country together through world-class entertainment, rich agricultural traditions, competitions, food, education, and unforgettable experiences for hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

About You

You understand that delivering successful events is about more than just the end result. Successful events are built on passion, innovation, adaptability, and most importantly, a desire to work with and deliver for your stakeholders – whoever they may be.

You will bring

- A love for being involved in every stage of the event lifecycle from planning and stakeholder engagement through to on-the-ground delivery.
- Extensive experience delivering large, complex events and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to build strong, trusted relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and experience working with diverse stakeholders with competing priorities.




- A collaborative approach to work, jumping in wherever needed to ensure the success of our events.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Pride in your work – a positive and solution focused mindset, taking ownership of event success and delivery.
- Project Management and/or tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Project Management, or a related discipline (highly desirable).
- A connection to or genuine interest in agriculture and/or connecting city and country (highly regarded).
