About the role

Looking for an Experienced Excavator Operator to efficiently and effectively conduct excavation and earthmoving operations for a local civil engineering and earthmoving contractor based in Geelong.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct daily inspections before operating machine to identify and report any maintenance or repairs required

- Select, fit, and remove attachments such as buckets, augers, rock-breaker attachments, and slings

- Excavation of earthworks inclusive of cut and fill operations, soil compaction and landscaping works

- Trenching in the construction of gravity and pressure pipelines in accordance with plans and specifications

- Comply with company policies including Safe Work Method Statements, OH&S; Policy, and Drug and Alcohol Policy

About you





- Hold a certificate of competence by a Registered Training Organisation

- Construction Induction (White) card

- Valid Driver Licence

- Good communication skills

- Robust attention to detail

- 3+ years of experience operating an excavator in the civil construction industry

- Ability to apply knowledge of OH&S; requirements to maintain a safe working environment for all employees

- Knowledge and experience of local council sub-divisional standards and procedures

- Knowledge and experience of local authorities including Power, Communications, Water and Gas
