Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is a progressive and highly respected organisation focussed on the development, integrity and promotion of the Victorian harness racing industry across Australia and globally. With solid links to rural and regional communities, we are recognised internationally as the home of harness racing in Australia, creating innovative racing events that are underpinned by our undisputed commitment to the highest standard of welfare and integrity across the industry.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking candidates to join our panel of respected Stewards’. With an interest in the integrity of sports, you are seeking to further or broaden your sports career with the national leaders in the exciting and vibrant sport of harness racing.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Attending race meetings, Inquiries & Appeals to ensure that harness racing is conducted fairly and in accordance with set guidelines, rules and policies.
- Analysing a race, video to make educated judgements on interference or tactics that may have affected the outcome of a race.
- Interacting with a diverse range of industry stakeholders at Official and Qualifying trials.

About You





Ideally, we are seeking high calibre applicants matching the following key criteria. If you don’t match all of the criteria, we’ll train you!:

- Experience working in a stewarding environment or better still, as a steward
- Prefer detailed knowledge of racing, horses and race strategies, but not essential
- An understanding of legal principles relating to Harness Racing
- Detail minded with strong interpersonal, analytical, interpretation and negotiation skills
- Confident, qualified and articulate with strong administrative skills
