We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, uses their initiative, pays attention to the finer details and understands the importance of getting things done properly.
This isn't a position where someone will be looking over your shoulder all day. We need someone who can take ownership of their responsibilities, manage their workload independently and keep the administrative side of a busy farming operation running smoothly.
If you're the sort of person who sees something that needs doing and gets on with it, we'd like to hear from you.
The Position
This is a permanent part-time opportunity, initially offering approximately 20–25 hours per week, with flexibility and potential for the role to grow.
Commencement: Late December 2026 or early January 2027, with the exact start date negotiable for the right applicant.
Working closely with the business owners, you will assist with the day-to-day administration, financial record keeping and operational compliance of our farming enterprise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing accounts payable and receivable through Xero.
- Entering supplier invoices, issuing customer invoices and reconciling accounts.
- Assisting with financial reporting and general bookkeeping.
- Maintaining accurate livestock records through NLIS and AgriWebb.
- Managing vehicle registrations and maintenance records using EziComply.
- Responding to telephone enquiries and emails.
- Maintaining accurate business records, spreadsheets and filing systems.
- Providing general administrative support across farming and livestock operations.
What We're Looking For
We're not interested in fancy job titles or impressive-sounding résumés without the experience to back them up.
We value proven ability, common sense, integrity and a genuine willingness to work.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in administration,
bookkeeping or a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero.
- Excellent computer literacy, typing and data entry skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Confidence working independently without constant supervision.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problems.
- Reliability, honesty, discretion and accountability.
- A willingness to learn new systems and take on additional responsibilities.
Experience in agriculture, livestock administration, NLIS or AgriWebb would be advantageous, although training can be provided in industry-specific systems.
What We Offer
- Flexible part time hours: Approximately 20–25 hours per week initially.
- Competitive remuneration: Above-average pay considered for the right applicant.
- Work-life balance: Flexibility around family and other commitments.
- Opportunity to grow: Potential for increased hours and responsibilities.
- Accommodation: Single-person accommodation available on the farm if required.
- Supportive workplace: Work directly with the owners of an established family agricultural business.
Applications –
We believe a person's work history, reputation and attitude often speak louder than a polished application.
We would like applicants to provide:
1. A résumé outlining relevant employment history and practical experience.
2. A brief introduction explaining why you would be suited to this position.
3. Three credible, contactable professional references who can speak to your work ethic, reliability and ability.
Traditional written résumés are welcomed, and genuine word-of-mouth recommendations are encouraged.
