Finance Manager

Sydney (close to airport)

$120,000 – $150,000 + Super

Company

We're a fast-growing, Australian-based civil contractor delivering concrete structures on major tunnel, motorway, rail and bridge projects for Tier 1 clients.

Looking for a Finance Manager to take ownership of our finance function and keep it as robust as the work we deliver on site.

Role

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you'll run the day-to-day finance operations of a busy, project-driven business.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle, including subcontractor and supplier payments, progress claims and collections
- Prepare and lodge BAS and manage ATO reconciliations, including GST, PAYG and superannuation obligations
- Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee asset management across plant and equipment, including depreciation, acquisitions and disposals
- Prepare monthly management reporting, job costing and cash flow forecasts
- Support month-end and year-end close, and liaise with external accountants and auditors
- Strengthen finance processes,



systems and internal controls as the business scales
- Supervise and develop finance support staff

About you

- Experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant, ideally in construction or civil
- Strong hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable skills
- Solid ATO reconciliation and compliance experience
- Experience in asset management and fixed asset accounting
- Degree in accounting or finance; CPA or CA preferred
- Proficient in Xero ideally or similar
- Detail-oriented, with strong communication skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
