Financial Accountant | Retail Sector | North Fremantle Location Your recent company
Are you a technically strong Financial Accountant who enjoys detail, takes pride in accuracy and is always looking for ways to improve processes? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful WA owned business with a strong national footprint and a collaborative, down-to-earth culture. Reporting to a senior finance leader, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust controls and supporting month-end and statutory compliance activities.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail while also contributing ideas around process improvement, automation and the use of technology within finance.
Your new role
- Manage month-end activities including journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting working papers
- Support financial reporting, year-end processes and audit requirements
- Assist with BAS, payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation and other statutory obligations
- Oversee banking, cash and payment-related processes
- Review payroll-related financial information and reconciliations
- Identify opportunities to improve controls, streamline processes and leverage automation
- Collaborate with finance and operational stakeholders across the business
What you'll need to succeed
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
- Demonstrated financial accounting experience within a commercial environment
- Strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations and statutory compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in process improvement, automation and emerging technologies
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities
