Role Description The Flooring Labourer and Installer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Melbourne, VIC. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with the installation of sprung timber sports floors, preparing and cleaning work areas, handling and organizing materials, and operating basic hand and power tools under supervision. The role involves measuring and cutting timber, laying and fixing flooring components, and supporting finishing activities such as sanding, coatings, and line markings.

Responsibilities also include following safety procedures, helping with equipment setup and pack-down, loading and unloading materials,



and maintaining a tidy and hazard-free worksite. The position requires working closely with experienced installers, adhering to project schedules, and occasionally assisting on jobs at different locations within the region.

Qualifications

- Practical flooring or construction skills, including use of hand and power tools, basic measuring, cutting, and material handling.
- Ability to follow installation instructions, read simple plans, and support accurate layout and alignment of timber flooring.
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety, including protected manual handling, PPE use, and adherence to site procedures.
- Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working on varied surfaces.
- Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to job sites in and around Melbourne, VIC.
- Previous experience in flooring, carpentry, or general construction is highly regarded but not essential; willingness to learn on the job is important.
- Right to work in Australia and basic English communication skills for safety, instructions, and teamwork.
