Drake Content is an AI-native, content and performance agency that compounds revenue and growth for our clients. We’re growing fast, and we need some short-term FREELANCE firepower.
Most agencies run creative, media and data as three separate briefs with three separate outcomes. We run them as one connected system, built inside the client’s business and optimised every day. Creative earns the attention, performance turns it into revenue, and closed-deal data feeds back in so the whole thing gets smarter over time.
We need an experienced performance marketer to keep that momentum going while a senior team member is on leave. We’ve had a long run of new business wins, and we have a busy three months of strong work ahead. Right into the lead-up to Christmas.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll run live Meta and Google Ads accounts every day, from build and launch through to optimisation. You’ll get context and goals, but no step-by-step instructions. We need someone who spots problems before anyone points them out, fixes them properly, and gets the details right.
What you’ll own
- Day-to-day management of a portfolio of live Meta and Google Ads accounts: building, launching, optimising and keeping them healthy
- Building and launching campaigns from briefs, and questioning a brief when something doesn’t add up (wrong objective, missing tracking, a budget that won’t pace)
- Daily account checks that end in action: pacing, budget variances, disapprovals and performance drops. Fix what you can, and escalate what you can’t with the numbers and a recommendation
- Optimisation decisions within agreed guardrails: budget shifts, bid strategy changes, audience and keyword changes, search term negatives, creative rotation
- Writing and testing ad copy: Meta primary text and headlines, Google RSA headlines and descriptions, and sitelinks and assets, all matched to brand voice and the brief
- Checking your own work before anything goes live: URLs, UTMs, pixels and conversion events, placements, formats and spend caps. Nothing goes live unchecked
- Accurate, insight-led inputs for WIP and EOW reporting: what happened, why it happened, and what we’re doing next
- Tight account hygiene: naming conventions, UTM consistency and general housekeeping
What you bring
- 2+ years of hands-on experience (agency or in-house) running Meta and Google Ads accounts yourself, not supporting someone else who made the calls
- Experience managing several accounts and meaningful budgets at the same time
- Strong working knowledge of Google Search, PMax and Meta’s current campaign structures, and you know when each one is the right tool
- You write ad copy that performs, and you can show us examples
- Proactive by default. You spot the issue, the opportunity or the gap before you’re asked
- Precise. One wrong digit in a budget or one broken UTM is real money and real data, and you check twice because of it
- Comfortable in the technical weeds: GTM, GA4, Meta CAPI, server-side tracking and offline conversions are preferred
- You can work from an outcome rather than a task list. Give you the goal and you’ll work out the steps
- A real interest in using AI to work faster. Not just chatting with it, but automating the repetitive parts of the job
This role is not for you if
- You need a detailed task list to be productive
- Most of your experience is executing what a senior decided
- You see QA as someone else’s job
Why Drake
We’re a small, senior team that behaves like the team inside your business, not a vendor outside it. We test and refine current AI tools inside our own agency first, then bring what works to clients, tested and ready to run. You’ll work on real accounts from day one and see exactly how your work feeds into a compounding system.
