Position Overview

Elwood Bakery & Cafe is seeking a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Front of House All-Rounder with coffee-making experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Take customer orders, answer menu enquiries and make recommendations.
- Prepare and serve quality coffee and other beverages.
- Prepare sandwiches, wraps and other café food items to order.
- Operate the cash register and process cash, EFTPOS and other payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming front-of-house area.
- Restock fridges, display cabinets, takeaway supplies and other items as required.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and handled in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and setting up the café.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Proactively identify tasks that need attention during quieter periods.

Skills and Experience




- Previous café or hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience making coffee using a commercial espresso machine.
- Confident operating a cash register and EFTPOS terminal.
- Experience preparing sandwiches and basic café food.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
- A positive attitude, reliability and a robust work ethic.
- Good attention to detail and personal presentation.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, as required.

Job Type: Casual / Part-time with a permanent contract (depending on availability)

Location: Elwood, VIC

Pay: Restaurant industry level 2 award wage
