Front of House - Usher

Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) and Creative Venues | Casual

Band 2 $42.75 per hour including casual loading

We're looking for Front of House - Ushers to join our Creative Venues team. In this role, you'll help create exceptional experiences for visitors attending performances, events and activities across Council's creative venues, with a particular focus on the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC). You'll be the welcoming face of our venues, ensuring patrons receive outstanding customer service from arrival through to departure.

You'll play an important role in helping deliver memorable experiences for our community while gaining exposure to a variety of performances and events.

What You'll Be Doing

- Welcome guests and provide professional,



customer-focused service to all visitors attending Council's creative venues.
- Check tickets, assist with seating arrangements and manage the seating of late arrivals in accordance with theatre etiquette.
- Provide information to patrons regarding venue facilities, performances and events.
- Monitor patron safety and wellbeing and assist with venue evacuation procedures when required.
- Assist with event set up and pack down activities and help maintain clean and welcoming public areas.
- Provide food and beverage services as required and support the efficient operation of Council's creative venues.

About You You are friendly, professional and genuinely enjoy creating positive customer experiences. You thrive in a team environment, communicate confidently with people from all backgrounds and can remain calm and responsive in a fast-paced environment. You have an interest in the performing arts and enjoy contributing to the success of community events and performances.

Key Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated experience delivering and maintaining excellent customer service.
- Ability to act responsibly and follow procedures in responding to safety incidents, first aid situations and evacuation requirements.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of,



or interest in, the performing arts and front of house operations.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
