About the role

Busy cafe is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Full time Barista to join our team in Malvern VIC 3144. This is a full-time position where you will be at the heart of our café operations, delivering exceptional coffee and beverage experiences to our valued customers. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating the welcoming atmosphere that defines our business.

Whilst showcasing your skills in coffee preparation, customer service, and hospitality. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your passion for quality beverages and customer satisfaction directly impacts our success.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based beverages, filter coffee, and other hot and cold drinks to exacting standards
- Operating and maintaining espresso machines and other café equipment to ensure consistent product quality
- Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, whilst providing knowledgeable recommendations
- Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming café experience
- Managing stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and other beverage ingredients, and reporting when supplies need replenishing
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic work station and café environment at all times
- Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions accurately
- Contributing to a positive team atmosphere and supporting colleagues during busy service periods
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café or hospitality role
- Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and beverage preparation techniques
- Proficiency in operating espresso machines and café equipment
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering quality service




- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customer orders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Reliability and punctuality with a flexible approach to scheduling
- Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or willingness to obtain it
- Preferred: Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent qualification
- Preferred: Experience with café POS systems and basic cash handling procedures
