About the Role:
Corporate Protection is currently seeking experienced and dedicated individuals for our Locum Rescue Paramedic position.
The Locum Rescue Paramedic is a full-time relief role operating at the forefront of our health and medical services across several client locations throughout Queensland and New South Wales.
This is a flexible and integral position within our team, working as part of our clients' emergency response teams and supporting our paramedic and nursing personnel during periods of operational demand. These may include the commencement of new client contracts, the introduction of additional roster lines, and coverage of vacancies arising from employee leave.
A secondary function of this role is the opportunity to step into our Field Contractor Coordinator (FCC) position when FCC personnel are unavailable. This provides an excellent opportunity to develop supervisory capabilities and gain valuable client relationship management experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency Response – Provide advanced assessment, treatment and stabilisation of medical emergencies and injuries as part of the onsite Emergency Response Team.
- Clinical Care – Manage work and non-work-related presentations within CPAHM clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
- Patient Escalation – Coordinate QAS response, medical consultation and patient evacuation when required, and manage the transport of your patients ensuring a smooth transition from site to a higher care facility.
- Clinical Governance – Maintain accurate documentation and comply with CPAHM clinical, medication and legislative requirements.
- Clinic Readiness – Maintain medications, equipment, consumables and emergency response capability.
- Injury Management – Support early intervention, injury assessment and return-to-work processes.
- Health & Safety Support – Provide clinical advice to site HSE teams and management when required.
- Emergency Preparedness – Participate in emergency response drills, exercises and site readiness activities.
- Health Promotion – Provide education and advice on health, wellbeing and injury prevention.
- Stakeholder Liaison – Work collaboratively with site personnel, emergency response teams, QAS and external health providers.
- Conduct Drug and Alcohol testing services in accordance with the clients Safety Management System.
- Conduct toolbox talks at the discretion of the client on health-related topics
- Conduct Emergency Response Team Training where required
- Adhere to company policies, clinical protocols, and procedures at all times.
Desirable Characteristics and experience:
- Ongoing education demonstrating a high standard of emergency management technique.
- Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Effective consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Effective time management, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a team leader in a critical environment.
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications: For any qualifications noted below, please outline the items which you currently hold in your cover letter and provide copies with your application, or immediately post interview.
- 3 plus years on road experience with a state ambulance service or equivalent
- Bachelor of Paramedicine or equivalent
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue – Desirable on commencement, or obtained within 6 months of commencement
- Unrestricted APHRA registration
- Advanced Life Support
- HLTPAT005 or HLTPAT010 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
- HLTAID009 Provide CPR
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
- Manual Driver’s License
- CPA H&M; Clinical Assessment
- Coal Board Medical
- Standard 11 Generic Coal Induction
- Immunisation for Hepatitis, Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus
- White Card
- Proof of Working Rights in Australia (Birth Certificate, Passport or Visa)
Desirable:
- Operate Light Vehicle - RIVEH20D
- Operate and maintain a 4WD- RIIVEH305D
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110)
- Rehabilitation and return to work coordinator (RRTWC) certification
