FSANZ is in a period of deliberate change: tightening priorities, ensuring sustainable workloads and timely delivery, and engaging on innovative ways of doing the agency’s important work.
The General Manager, Corporate Services will lead the corporate functions (finance, people, communications, governance, ICT and property) that make this possible, and will be a core member of a united executive team.
You will:
- Support staff in making hard prioritisation calls and ensure decisions align with the agency’s strategic direction and are explained plainly to staff
- Keep people informed, trusted, empowered, and productive through change, with honest communication, sustainable workloads and a proportionate, evidence-based approach to psychosocial safety that supports staff without adding to their load
- Sustain strong assurance, risk and governance so the agency is effective in its delivery
- Show our values in how you lead, and hold others to them
You are a senior leader who can run complex corporate functions, make decisions under uncertainty, and bring people with you.
You are as comfortable with a budget variation and a risk register as with a difficult conversation, and you see culture as the product of trust, clear priorities, and good management.
Your Impact
- Lead transformational change to align corporate functions with FSANZ’s future-focused strategy and new legislative framework.
- Champion a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the agency.
- Drive digital enablement and workforce capability to support innovation and productivity.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to shape organisational strategy and ensure alignment across all corporate services.
- Translate strategic goals into operational plans and performance metrics that drive agency-wide success.
- Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across all corporate functions.
- Inspire and empower multidisciplinary teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and future-readiness.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a generalist executive leader, with the ability to lead across diverse domains.
- A track record of building and sustaining positive organisational culture and high-performing teams.
- Strategic agility and the ability to lead change in complex, regulated environments.
- Strong judgement, analytical capability, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Experience in digital transformation and workforce planning to support future-readiness.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative and self-aware leadership style and the ability to work across technical and regulatory boundaries.
We’re seeking a visionary and adaptable leader to help take FSANZ to the next level.
You’ll bring strategic insight, a cooperative mindset, and a passion for enabling high-performing teams to thrive in a changing environment.
This role is about more than managing corporate functions - it’s about shaping the future of FSANZ as we embrace new legislation, digital transformation, and a culture of continuous improvement.
You’ll be leading a branch of already high-performing professionals across stakeholder engagement, governance, finance, HR, legal, ICT, communications, and property.
Your challenge is to unlock their full potential, drive innovation, and ensure the agency is prepared, productive, and future-ready.
